In 1934 he launched the first ready-to-wear collection under the label "Edition". Installed at 16 avenue Matignon in Paris, he created in 1925 the "kinetic" silhouette, i.e. a supple, modern, dynamic line. He was the first to imagine, a decade later, the luxury ready-to-wear and to think of the unity of a production from clothing to accessories and perfumes, considering fashion as much in its aesthetic dimension, as in its industrial and commercial dimension. That same year, he made his first trip to the United States. President of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture from 1937 to 1945, he trained Christian Dior, Robert Piguet...

1994 Vivienne Westwood 3-piece Leopard skirt, vest and jacket suit
By Vivienne Westwood
Located in CAPELLE AAN DEN IJSSEL, ZH
Stunning leopard 3 piece set is notable piece from Vivienne Westwood's 1994 fw collection. The print made its debut in October 1993 during the Fall/Winter 1994 "Café Society' collection, representing one of the designer's most iconic moments.
On that memorable occasion, the jacket adorned the graceful model, Helena Christensen. "Café Society" reimagines European history's impact on women's fashion, posing the question: How does a woman appear when freed from restrictions? Vivienne Westwood, a challenger of fashion authority, draws inspiration from Charles Frederick Worth, the 19th-century founder of haute couture. By incorporating elements like ivory tassels, Westwood transforms the traditional Victorian bustle...

By Lucien Lelong
Located in Beverly Hills, CA
Lucien Lelong was the last in a long line of couturiers who were masters of every aspect of haute couture. Unlike today's couturiers who are primarily fashion designers, Lelong combined a keen business sense with a refined eye for modern design. He hand-picked designers such as Pierre Balmain, Christian Dior and Hubert de Givenchy and developed their talents in order to realize his vision of the fashionable woman. This iconic three-piece ensemble is a wonderful example of his genius. The surrealism print is unbelievable- an alphabet chart...
