This breathtaking 1930's burgundy silk velvet dress, accented by cream lace details, is just the piece for your transitional wardrobe. The rounded neckline is edged with a border of scalloped cream lace, contouring both the front and back of the neckline. The simple shoulder line, sets off the detailed stitched gathers along the top of each sleeve, creating a puffed sleeve design, with pleats that radiate along the short length, joining wide panels of smocking stitches and lace edged cuffs. The fitted bodice is accented by a wide smocking stitch panel along the waistline, which has been stitched in with elastic, allowing the silk velvet to pleat and gather down the wonderful drape of the skirt-line, completing this dress in an iconic 1930's silhouette.
