A Pale pink brocaded Moiré silk Crinoline ball gown Circa 1860

Beautiful summer crinoline ball gown in pale pink moiré silk lampas with brocaded floral garlands, probably made earlier than the large crinoline dress. The one-piece bodice is whalebone, pointed at the front and fastened with period brass hooks at the back. The skirt is finely mounted in organza pleats and sewn to the bodice. Cream chintz lining and side slits for pockets. The dress has a few tiny halos on the front skirt, which are very difficult to see, and tiny halos under the arms. The lampas is very strong, with no holes or major flaws. Good overall condition in terms of colour and conservation.
Dimensions: Equivalent to size 36/38 France. Height 122 cm, shoulders 36 cm, chest 90 cm, waist 70 cm, skirt 300 cm.
