This is an outstanding multicoloured parka jacket dating to 1991, lightly padded and cut in an oversized bomber shape, with a large collar and turnback cuffs. The material is a very soft silk, with a colour block pattern featuring shades of hot pink, yellow, neon green, orange and indigo blue. The front of the jacket has two rows of four buttons, so it can be fastened looser or tighter, depending on desired fit. This fine 1940s flecked grey wool jacket retailed in high end American department store Schleisner and Co, Baltimore. There is a small additional label inside from the Coat and Suit Industry National Recovery Board which was a Union-made label used from 1936-1972. This darted and contoured jacket features a rounded v-neckline, with an overlapping button closure, and a further four pearlescent buttons running down the front. It has sloped seamed shoulders with slight padding to add structure, finished off with a button to each cuff.
