Red & Blue Crepe Skirt Suit With Cropped Jacket, 1940's

1940's patriotic style red & blue crepe skirt suit with cropped jacket. The jacket is a stylized version of a military look with pointy wide collar, exaggerated shoulders, upturned cuffs and a double row of decorative buttons. The skirt zips and hooks at the side with a scalloped waistband which peaks through the open jacket when wearing. The jacket is fully lined and the skirt is unlined. Originally retailed at Horne's, a ladies boutique located in Roanoke, Virginia. No other label present. CONDITION Good to fair vintage condition with some overall fading to the red fabric. One sleeve cuff is missing a button, please see photograph 12. The metal zipper shows wear including some missing 'teeth', please see photograph 13. It works though it is a little finicky and might eventually need to be replaced. SIZING & MEASUREMENTS The size is not marked though the suit best fits U.S. size 4 - 6 with attention to the following measurements. For visual reference, the mannequin in the photographs is a size 4 and the skirt was a little too big.
