About the Item
This lacquered Chinese carrying basket impresses with a prim, balanced form of intricately woven split bamboo. A celebratory form traditionally used for carrying food or delivering gifts, the lidded basket has a rounded body elevated by a footed base and surmounted by an arched handle, both of thick strips of painted bamboo.
