Chinese Natural Agate Stone Snuff Bottle Hand Carved with Spoon Top, circa 1940
About the Item
This is a beautiful Chinese Export snuff bottle, complete with its spoon top and made from a natural agate, hand carved stone, having lovely amber colors, which we date to the first half of the 20th century, Circa 1940.
The bottle has a smooth, tactile hand carved section with a short neck, rounded corners and a low foot.
This striking bottle is hand carved from a natural agate which has subtle veined detail within the stone, with a lovely mix of soft amber colors including burnt orange, amber, yellow, all in different shades. The bottle is hand polished and is very smooth, tactile and cold when held.
The bottle has an inside opening to the top which locates a rounded stopper of a burnt orange colour that is fitted with a bronze metal spoon.
We date this piece to the 20th century, circa 1940.
