A Fine Pair of 19th Century Japanese Hand Enamelled Porcelain Cabinet Plates
About the Item
These fine cabinet plates date from the Meiji Period (1868-1912), showing richly decorated hand painted enamelled bodies. Their central fields illustrating finely executed vignettes depicting figures in garden landscapes within a panelled border of birds of paradise, butterflies and floral motifs, radiating out to octagonal shaped wavy rims.
The undersides of both plates showing blue underglaze marks.
