Glazed Pot

About the Item

Ceramic stoneware pot with a crackled green glaze, hailing from mid-18th century China. The color quality here is fabulous—the juiciest, most pellucid marine blue-green, with soft washes of a darker hue dotting the surface in an irregular pattern. The overall decorative program is sensuous, abstract, organic, vaguely recalling leaves floating on the surface of water. China, circa 1850. Dimensions: 8 W x 8 D x 7.5 H.
