It's an old Japanese mortar.
It was used in the Tohoku region of Japan.
The material is unknown, but it seems that it was originally black, and it has become a natural expression over time.
There is a big crack, but it has been repaired with old iron fittings.
You can turn it upside down and use it as an exhibition stand or table.
