19th Century Chinese Lacquer Secretary Desk in Louis XV Style

About the Item

This unique Louis XV-style Chinese lacquer secretary desk from the late 19th century boasts a rich brown background, decorated with scenes of Oriental life – palaces, terraces, figures, birds, and floral motifs. It opens with one drop-down leaf, two doors, and a drawer for functionality. The desk's interior consists of four more drawers, one niche, and shelves. Its drop-down leaf is covered in slightly worn leather (the option for new leather installation can be discussed with our upholsterer, depending on your preferences). Topped with a reddish-brown marble with a bec de corbel, this secretary desk is highly decorative, complementing both antique and contemporary interiors.
