19th Century Japanese Bronze Horse Sculpture
About the Item
Antique (19th century) patinated bronze figurine of a horse with bridle and saddle, mounted on later wooden pedestal. Figurine alone measures 14 by 11 by 3.5 inches. Total height with base 13 inches and depth of the base is 6.5 inches. Saddle flap decorated with the mon symbol, commonly referred to as the triple hollyhock, the symbol of the Tokugawa clan of the Edo period. Underside signed.
