Large Antique Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Container Box with Butterflies
About the Item
A large antique Japanese, Meiji era, covered enamel over copper food container box. The exterior of the ware is enameled with polychrome foliate scroll, and floral ornaments made in the Cloisonne technique. The cover features a polychrome enamel medallion depicting blossoming flowers on the green ground surrounded by floral, foliage, and geometrical patterns made in the Cloisonne technique. Unmarked. Circa: early 19th century.
