A gorgeous four-panel Japanese Byobu folding screen depicting a hunting scene with various warriors and animals spread across a vast, mountainous landscape with lush forest. The dark, rich colors, gold leaf, and beautiful hand-painted detail really make this an attractive and special work. Signed and sealed by the artist. Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch. This piece is sure to stand out in almost any setting whether used as a divider or hung on the wall as a work of art. A beautiful and unique work. Likely Showa period but perhaps older. Approximate dimensions when fully extended: 36" high, 70" wide, 1" deep. Approximate folded dimensions: 36" high, 18" wide, 2.75" deep.

    In very good condition with light wear consistent with age and use and thin crevice of paper slightly coming loose at one hinge (hard to see when properly displayed. Please see photos). No holes tears to image. Beautiful and unique work overall.
