A 19th century Chinese carved wall plaque of lacquered rosewood. This plaque features a cloud-shape medallion with various figures within. Among those figures are two fantastic animals dancing about the clouds who seem to be playing with a decorated ball. These celestial animals are a classic Chinese subject with the clouds represented as scrolls. This hand carved plaque is made of lacquered rosewood highlighted by a transparent varnish. This 19th century Chinese hand carved lacquered rosewood wall plaque would bring an exotic charm to any home and would make a wonderful addition to a wall in a living room, a hallway or perhaps even a dining room.
