Vintage Hood for e. Frederics Hair and Scalp Treatment Vaporizer, 1930's

About the Item

This hood is a remnant part of a 1930's E. Frederics Hair and Scalp Treatment Vaporizer, used in curling women's hair or creating "permanent waves" to achieve the new standard of beauty during this era. Manufactured in New York, these devises were normally found in salons. This piece is just the hood for the electrified machine that used chemicals and steam, rare in today's collectible marketplace. If you're a collector of interesting machines of the past, or need vintage pieces for staging or props, this could be just the right piece!

  • Luigi Colani, Double Washbasin for Villeroy and Boch, 1979
By Villeroy & Boch, Luigi Colani
    Located in Saarbrücken, SL
Rare double sink by Luigi Colani from the 1970s. The sink is installed in the center of the room. Separated are the two basins by a wide-span arch in chromed metal in the middle of which is a mirror on both sides. Attached to the arch are two lamps, four small shelves made of glass, a bracket for a towel each and two plugs. The fittings are marked and are also a design by Luigi Colani. In this object shows very strongly Colani’s efforts in his designs to unite nature, man and design. It also symbolizes Colani’s desire to bring the bathroom more into the center of the home and to give the room a greater significance. This model can be found in various museums and collectors. The one offered here comes from an old floor...
