A fine porcelain covered sugar bowl (that doubles perfectly as a table box). In the Melone pattern designed by Josef Hoffman in 1929. Decorated in black and gold. By the Vienna Augarten Porcelain Manufactory ( Wiener Porzellanmanufaktur Augarten GmbH) Hoffman was a founding member of the Wiener Werkstätte and one of the leading Design voices of the 20th century. Fully marked to the base. This model dates to the early 21st century. Simply a wonderful example of Secessionist design! Date: Early 21st Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
