Custom Restaurant Oversized Ceramic Matchbox
About the Item
The Matchbox Series is composed of roughly 3”x 5” to 5” x 7” boxes that make direct references to iconic culinary institutions. These boxes come with slide out inserts that are filled with oversized matches, roughly 20-30 per order. There is also a fully functioning strike paper panel on the side, making the whole piece functional art. These boxes work perfectly on coffee tables, easily accessible to light a candle, or proudly displayed standing up on any shelf.
Custom boxes may be requested, with reference provided and allowing 8 - 12 weeks for production. Additional matches may be requested as well. Please specify if you have a hard deadline and I will try to accommodate that as well.
Please also note that each ceramic piece is lovingly handcrafted, and minor imperfections or flaws may be present, adding to its unique charm and character. These variations are a testament to the artisanal nature of C Cubed products.

Catie Curry Ceramics
Having been born and raised in NYC, I find myself in a unique position to observe and mimic the surroundings of my everyday, past and present. My inspiration varies from childhood visits to the Met, getting bodega hot chocolate after school, and onto the more recent experience of my life, such as getting a degree in Art History from NYU, where I studied the works of modern abstract artists such as Marcel Duchamp and Andy Warhol. I loved Duchamp’s readymade collection–the idea that anything can be art. I think that anything can be art, but anything can be ceramic too. Ceramic seemed the clear medium of choice for me. I started making pottery in middle school, but unfortunately never saw it through because of all the challenges it presents; access to materials, kilns, etc. Then, while studying at NYU and interning at an architecture firm, I gained exposure to more art and pottery. I managed to squeeze handbuilding lessons into my schedule, and from that first class I was hooked. Between graduating NYU and getting hired as a designer at said architecture firm, I continued going to the studio after work and on the weekends, eventually leading up to building a collection for my first show at the All Streets gallery located in the East Village
