About the Item
A sculptural multi-purpose container, handcrafted in the Puebla region of Mexico with a regard for the textures, colors, and ancestral powers inherent in the Volcanic Rock. This legendary Material is representative of Mexico, arising from the cooling of lava flows from the volcanoes of the Sierra Madre. The top is made of Tzalam, a tropical hardwood native to the Yucatán boasting a fine texture and caramel hues.

About The Artist:
Inspired by our historical, natural, and Primitive roots, Karim Molina, a textile designer from Caracas, Venezuela, highlights the beauty of materials, design and quality in their creations. Working with natural resources such as Guayacán and Tzalam woods, volcanic stone, marbles and natural leathers, their processes are completely handmade allowing each piece to be unique. With a philosophy that we all deserve special objects that tell a story, they personally seek out the materials and craftsmen with which they work, giving a sentimentality and intimacy to their design.
