American Cut Glass and Silver Tobacco Jar
About the Item
This resplendent tobacco jar by Bailey, Banks & Biddle of Philadelphia features a beautiful sterling silver lid atop a body of elegant cut-to-clear glass. The lid is adorned with a wonderful Rococo repoussé decoration which contrasts beautifully with the green and cranberry cut glass patterning on the jar. Renowned as one of the first American luxury goods retailers, to find a piece from the early years of the business is quite appealing.
