Antique Chinese Tea Caddy Cloisonne Enamels on Copper 19th century

About the Item

Handcrafted using the Cloisonné technique, this tea caddy has an original shape, decorated with stylized bats and flowers, and signed at the bottom. Perfect for tea enthusiasts, it will not only serve as a practical storage solution but also as a historical and and design piece for your interior. Size app.: 12.5 cm (roughly 4.9 in) high, 9 cm (roughly 3.5 in) diameter. Good condition, some little damage and losses to enamel (all shown in photographs), also minimal age and usage wear. Please study good resolution images for overall cosmetic condition. In person actual item may appear darker or brighter than in our pictures, strictly depending on sufficient light in your environment. Weight of app. 0.2 kg is going to measure some 1 kg packed for shipmed. Products made using the cloisonné technique, which were produced in China, were made from a stone-based material that, when exposed to high temperatures, turned into a very durable enamel. Experts believe that the most exquisite enameled products in the world were produced in China. According to some sources, enamel products were first produced in China during the reign of the Yuan Dynasty (1271 - 1368). Chinese cloisonné products were among the goods that traveled along the Silk Road from China to India, the Middle East and Europe since the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644).
