Porcelain Clock & Stand by Aubert & Klaftenberger

About the Item

This vintage elaborately decorated French porcelain mantle clock dates from the 1850's. The delicate porcelain has hand painted colorful sculpted flowers, gleaming gold gilt scrolls & painted floral accents that comprise the body of this rare timepiece. The white enamel clock face has black Roman numerals. The clock fits comfortably on a separate porcelain platform with similar designs. Separate platforms such as this are rarely found with their companion clock in good condition, let alone the outstanding condition of this pair! The clock has a key wind string movement & is stamped with the makers name, Aubert & Klafenberger - Paris. Additionally, there is an oval punch mark featuring a big letter D & a small later z. This unusually beautiful clock has a bumble bee prominently displayed just beneath the clock face. I do not know the significance of the bumble bee. Unfortunately, the clock is being sold without a key or pendulum. Thus, it is sold as - is. 16 3/4" tall X 12 5/8" wide X 6 3/8" deep
