Edouard Clerk was located at the number 7 of Rue Pastourelle in Paris, 3 district at Le Marais. 1914 It is interesting to note that although this desk clock was made in France at the beginning of the 20th century, the language used is Italian. This is an accurate indicator to take into account and know for whom it was made. We believe it was a presentation gift for some Italian royal nobleman in 1914. We have not been able to discover information about who, but we note events in Italy and Europe for the year 1914. The World War I began in July 1914, Italy was a partner in the Triple Alliance with Germany and Austria-Hungary, but decided to remain neutral. However, a strong sentiment existed within the general population and political factions to go to war against Austria-Hungary, Italy's historical enemy.
