About the Item
Unique abstract Totem sculpture by Nerone Ceccarelli (1937 - 1996), Italy 1970s. Exceptional work in the form of a totem composed of a mix of interesting stacked geometric forms. Unique in both style, material and representation. Ceccarelli was born under the name Giovanni Ceccarelli but is better known under the name Nerone, he was given this name due to his passion for fire. Research after geometric shapes was the main theme in his works, rigorous geometric abstractionism can be found back in all his sculptures and reliefs always trying to integrate art and architecture. Nerone is well known for the collaboration with his companion Giancarlo Patuzzi with which he founded Gruppo NP2 in 1962. Gruppo NP2 was honored for their artistic works and is rediscovered since a few years with a growing appreciation and value. Since 1974 -1975 Nerone continued solo, this sculpture is from the period shortly after 1975. Provided with a certificate of authenticity by the Nerone Giovanni Ceccarelli archive. In excellent condition.
