About the Item

Italian, After the Antiquity. A Grand Tour Era bronze sculpture of "The Dying Gaul" - heavily patinated. Also known as "The Dying Gallia", "The Dying Galatian" or "The Dying Gladiatoris" is an ancient Roman marble copy of a lost Hellenistic sculpture made by King Attalos of Pergamon after a victory over a Gallic tribe appx. 230 B.C.
