"Satyr and Rabbit, " Superb Art Deco Sculpture, Carved Mahogany
About the Item
Entirely charming and whimsical, this depiction of a rotund satyr beguiling a woodland rabbit is clearly the work of a master carver. Sculpted from a cylinder of ruddy mahogany, the sculptor has included many wonderful details which emerge as the viewer rotates the sculpture, including the haunches and hooves of the satyr on the reverse side, above the roughly-faceted base.
