1950s Dutch Rare Mummified Veterinary Calf Foetus Specimen Curiosity

About the Item

A little bit creepy but very beautiful this petrified unborn cow baby mummy. Calf mummification occurs when a cow foetus dies inside the womb for to some reason and instead of expelling the foetus like normal, it dehydrates due to the absorption of amniotic fluids and mummifies in the mother’s body over time. Cows carrying a mummified calf will appear normal and healthy most of the time. This would be a great addition to a curiosity cabinet.
