Very Beautiful Marbled Black Ancient Glass Small Jar/Mediterranean
About the Item
This is a very old glass made in the Mediterranean area.
A palm-sized small glass jar.
I believe it is from the 10th century or earlier.
It was probably made of blown glass.
It's black, but the white marble pattern here and there is very beautiful.
Such glasses are mostly found as archaeological finds. Since it has been buried in the soil for a long time, the surface has lost its luster and has become a matte surface.
This glass also has a dull, matte feel.
However, it is in very good condition with no cracks.
I couldn't find a similar one, but I posted a picture of a similar one in the catalog of the museum.
I prepared the black pedestal.
A special wooden box is also included.
The wooden box says "Roman glass", but Roman glass was made between the 1st century and the 3rd century.
However, there is a possibility that this glass was made after the 3rd century, so it is written as before the 10th century.
How about displaying it in your living room or collection room?
I was able to purchase the item that was owned by a Japanese collector. The price is set as reasonable as possible.
