About the Item
This very large bombe shaped two handled faience jardiniere is by Ulysse Besnard of Blois, France, and rests on four feet. The hand painted decoration includes swirling arabesques and dragons, and on each side in a central cartouche is a hand painted fire-breathing salamander entwined around the letter F.
