Contemporary Vase 'Gutta CS1' by Noom, Blown Transparent glass

About the Item

Sculptural glass vases “Gutta” pay homage to the ancient glassblower-artist technique "guta," which goes back to the times of the Kyivan Rus'. The Guttas vases were designed by NOOM's co-founder and chief designer, Kateryna Sokolova, who aimed to explore the glass's unique properties and create simple but statement objects that evoke a feeling of a frozen movement. Crafted by local glassmiths in one of the main cultural centers of Ukraine, Lviv, the vases are both highly contemporary in their form yet ingrained in history with their exquisite craftsmanship and age-old techniques. "The interplay of simplicity, pure lines, and material is the most important element of my work. I love to work with "live" materials, challenging them and inscribing them into the contemporary design from a new perspective. Through the vases' curvaceous form, I wanted to convey the mysterious power of nature and a sense of rhythm. Every vase has been hand blown, which makes it unique and beautiful in its imperfection." - said the designer." Brand: NOOM Designer: Kateryna Sokolova Materials: Blown glass Color Scheme: CS1 -Transparent glass Dimensions: H 22 cm, W 24 cm, D 27 cm
