About the Item
A rare bronze vase has arrived.
This is a bronze vase made in the late Goryeo period (12th to 13th century) in Korea.
I don't know the details of whether it was used as a Buddhist vessel or used in daily life.
Goryeo made such beautifully designed pottery and metalware.
Since it was excavated, the bronze is rusted to a greenish blue color.
Bronze vessels from this period were made of thin metal, so they often had holes in them due to corrosion in the soil.
This also had a hole when it was first excavated, but it was repaired later and the hole is now closed.
The areas marked with red circles are the areas to be repaired.
The colors of the repaired areas are well matched and don't bother me too much.
I then tried adding about 3cm of water, but there was no leakage.
However, please note that if you add more water than that, water may seep through the small holes.
Also, if you leave it in water for a long period of time, corrosion will progress, so please dry it after you finish using it as a flower vase.
Also, I think it would be nice to add dried flowers.
It is not a type of item that is widely available in Japan, so it is rare.
A very beautiful emerald green vase.
