Pair of English Porcelain Two Handled Covered Vases, Derby, circa 1770
About the Item
Each of inverted pear shape with hemispheric lower body and raised on a circular foot, the turquoise ground handles enriched in gilt, the domed cover with gilt acorn finial, painted in colors in the manner of J.B. Huet, one with a washerwoman, the other with a shepherdess, reserved within chased gilt bands, the reverse with a loose bouquet within a similar border.

Alone, it is stunning. It is hand painted, but the painting is minimal when compared to other earlier examples, especially from the Meissen factory. This covered urn was created in Germany with colorful scenes during the early 20th Century.
