Pair of Qingbai Funerary Vases with Daoist figures, Southern Song-Yuan Dynasty

A pair of large Qingbai jars from the Song or Yuan Dynasty, designed for tomb offerings, featuring tall proportions with short bodies and extended necks. These Mingqi jars, typically created in pairs, are noted for their diverse decorations and quality levels, as extensively documented in historical records. The lids are adorned with bird finials symbolizing the Vermilion Bird of the South, and a coiled dragon represents the Green Dragon of the East. The collar around the jars is embellished with figures of gods, adding a sacred dimension to the artifacts.
