The company is known for its modern, high-quality furniture, often designed by renowned architects and designers. The history of Cassina is closely linked to the development of modern design in Italy. In the 1930s and 1940s the company collaborated with some of the most important designers of the time, including Gio Ponti, Ico Parisi and Max Huber. These designers helped create a new style of Italian furniture characterized by clean lines, simple shapes and use of new materials. In the 1950s and 1960s Cassina continued to collaborate with prominent designers, such as Le Corbusier, Charles and Ray Eames and Frank Lloyd Wright. These collaborations have produced some of Cassina's most iconic furniture, such as Le Corbusier's LC4 Chaise Longue and the Eames Lounge Chair.
