Rare Japanese Cloisonne Enamel Over Brass Goldstone Vases with Butterflies

About the Item

A pair of rare identical Japanese unusual shaped enamel over brass bud vases. Each vase has a sphere shaped body with a narrow neck and a narrow base. The exterior of the vases are enameled with polychrome medallions with symmetrical images of butterflies, floral, foliage, scrollwork and traditional Greek patterns. The ground is inlaid with Goldstones. Mounted on footed stands. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century Dimensions: H 6 3/4 in. All measurements are approximate. Condition Overall good vintage condition. Signs of age and wear. Refer to photos.
