This is a tall vintage decorative vase. An Oriental, ceramic baluster urn decorated with moriage, dating to the Art Deco period, circa 1940. Superb form with wonderful period detail Displaying a desirable aged patina with minimal wear commensurate with age Decorated ceramic with distinctive moriage applications Mellow hues applied over a predominantly cream ground Two large panel scenes to the front and reverse sides Incidental foliate motif overlaid against the background Unusual gilt finished forms to the neck framing small floral shields The flared rim decorated with a painted border, dark Vermillion border to the underside Cobalt blue band to the base with repeating pattern around its circumference Finished with a small maker's mark to the underside This is a charming vintage decorative vase with great, tall proportion and tasteful finish. A delight for collectors of Oriental Art Deco ceramics with the moriage adding further visual interest. Delivered polished and ready for display.
