About the Item

A beautiful midcentury wall plaques by Noomi Backhausen, Søholm. The artwork is in three placques. Noomi Backhausen (1938–2011) was one of Denmark's leading ceramic designers during the 20th century. She is best known for her time at the Söholm factory during the 1960s-1980s, where she designed wall plaques, lamps, and other works of art in earthy colors. Noomi's artwork is represented at several museums in the Nordic region. Each plagues is 34 x 34 cm.

    Large beautiful stoneware bowl handmade at Søholm Stoneware, Denmark in the 1970s. The bowl is hand decorated with a Japanese inspired floral motif depicting a stylized "Lily of the valley" and finished with a wonderful speckled glazing. Soft earth tones. Stamped underneath. The Søholm Pottery on the small island of Bornholm in Denmark was established in 1836 and closed in 1996. They were one of Denmarks finest ceramics workshops.
