An English mahogany knife box from the first half of the 19th century, with serpentine front, checkered stringing and inlay. This exquisite English knife box presents a brass hinged top adorned with an oval inlaid medallion opening to reveal an interior designed to receive spoons and knives. This removable section conceals a lovely inlaid star, surrounded by a checkered stringing echoing the décor of the exterior. With its delicate serpentine shape and lovely blond patina, this English mahogany knife box circa 1840 will bring a stylish touch to any home.
