China trade export octagonal porcelain platter, c. 1800's

About the Item

Octagonal porcelain deep platter decorated in the traditional Chinese tea house motif with a Nanking arrow border in underglaze cobalt blue. A fine firing line appears on the underside, and glazing chips appear along the rim. China, made for the Western trade, early 1800’s.
