18th Century Museal French masterpieces. A pair sterling silver and Baccarat crystal salt cellars. The 2 oval crystal bowls carried by 2 Swans on an oval base supported by 4 Dolphins Hallmarkes French sterling Silver 950, Paris, Marks for the year 1819 - 1931 Maker Francois Durand , Paris, 1792 - 1874 Style Empire 1st period Francois Durand goldsmith of the Duke of Orléans, was a pupil of Odiot and workshop manager of Fauconnier. in the early 19th century he participated in the Products of Industry Exhibitions, as well as the Universal Exhibitions in London (Crystal Palace (1851) and Paris (1855). In 1841 he made the Goodwood Orleans Cup for the Duc d'Orléans This Renaissance style cup was commissioned by the Prince for the sculptor Jean-Baptiste Jules Klagmann and realized by Durand. This Goodwood Orleans cup is now part of the Musee Louvre Paris (see photos) Material: Silver and Baccarat crystal. Good condition.
