Still sealed in the original shrink wrap! This gorgeous vintage set of Capiz shell placemats, coasters, and napkin rings fashioned from Tiger Leopard Cowrie shells and matching cream-coloured napkins, comes straight from 1970s Philippines.Mint condition.
There are six lovely hand made place settings crafted from the shells of the province of Capiz and the island of Samal in the Philippines. The shells are often called windowpane oysters because they have been harvested for thousands of years for use as windowpanes. The napkins have a stitched pattern of flowers, as well as a cut out section that looks like a trellis.
This would make a lovely vintage gift for a beach house, for someone looking to bring the nautical or coastal flavour into their home and what an amazing touch for a seafood feast!

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. It’s a new set sealed in original packaging, but as you can see on the back ( pictures ) there is some red coloring that looks it could be the tape that has turned orange/red with the years I can’t guarantee the color will go away after cleaning.
