Textured Japanese Tetsubin Teapot with Lotus Bud Knob, c. 1900
Located in Chicago, IL
Decorated with a dotted, textured surface and an elegant arched handle, this Japanese teapot was used to boil water for traditional tea ceremonies. Known as tetsubin, the kettle’s cast-iron construction is said to change the quality of the water, making tea taste mellow and sweet. Made by pouring iron into clay or sand molds, the kettle has a rustic texture in pleasing contrast to its unusual angular form and incised lid, which bears a knob in the shape of a lotus bud...

2 Antique 19th Century English Samuel Alcock Blue Gold Floral Cups & Saucers
Located in Dayton, OH
"Four piece set of antique mid 19th century Samuel Alcock porcelain tea / coffee cups and saucers featuring turquoise blue with florals and gold gilding. Samuel Alcock (1799–1848) was a leading pottery manufacturer who operated as Samuel Alcock & Co in Burslem, Staffordshire from 1828 to 1859. They were especially noted for ""picture jugs"" modelled and moulded in relief in various ceramic materials, a popular type of object in these years. Samuel Alcock & Co. Alcock was born in Kingsley, Staffordshire. He was the youngest of the nine children of Thomas (1746–1816) and Catherine Alcock (1756–1838). Though from a farming background, he developed an interest in commerce after working with his uncle Joseph Locker, a grocer, tea dealer, provision dealer, chandler and banker of the Market Square, Hanley. His introduction to pottery came when he embarked upon a partnership with Ralph Stevenson of Cobridge, Staffordshire. In 1828, Alcock developed his own business and began work on the Hill Top site in Cobridge. By the 1830s Stevenson employed 600 people at his works. In 1839 he completed work on a large factory, built in the Venetian style, on the junction of Westport Road and Greenhead Street. In November of that year a party to celebrate the opening was held at the George Hotel...

French Gilt Two-Tiered Tea Table
Located in New Orleans, LA
This exquisite tea table by celebrated Parisian silversmith Gustave Keller is an extraordinary example of superior French craftsmanship. The luxurious two-tiered table brings together exceptional metalwork and an ingenious design, with a stunning gilt structure that displays the delicate artistry of the Art Nouveau style. As functional as it is exquisite, the design incorporates a four-piece silver tea set including a teapot, creamer, and sugar at the crown, as well as a kettle at the base. The teapot is perfectly balanced within the frame so that it may be tilted for a spill-free pour, while the kettle rests atop a heat lamp, ensuring hot water is always at hand. Beautifully designed and flawlessly executed, this tea table is an extraordinary example of Keller's artistry and ingenuity. Founded in 1856, Gustave Keller specialized in elegant gold and silver objects d'art for the upper-class home. The firm exhibited extensively at the Great Exhibitions, winning a silver medal in 1867, gold medals in 1878 and 1889 and a Grand Prix in 1900, the same year they exhibited a tiered tea table...
