Rev. Floriated cross with lis at ends, crowned lions in angles.
This coin was struck during the cessation of hostilities between England and France following the Treaty of Bretigni in 1360 when Edward renounced his claim to the French throne. The capture of the French King John during the Battle of Poitiers in 1356 meant the French had to pay a huge ransom of over 4 million gold ecus for his release.
