"The Bird Cane", Unusual Early 20th Century Walking Cane

About the Item

Early 20th century walking cane We are proud to offer a highly unusual walking cane made from aged bamboo. This unique and artistic object has naturally taken the form of a bird. The creator of this fascinating object obviously saw the likeness of a bird’s head in this object and decided to make it into a functional walking cane. The cane is one solid piece of Bamboo and has not been altered to take this form, the eyes on the face are amazingly natural stumps in the bamboo itself. We have mounted this object as its more a sculptural piece of folk art. Size in inches: H 37” x W 7” x D 3” Origin: Unknown Period: Early 20th century Material: Bamboo Condition report: Structurally secure, surface marks and natural loss of color across all areas as shown in the photos provided. A deep natural patina and wear across the handle of this item. We have displayed this object on a simple metal stand which is included in the sale. Its strongly recommended to review all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment.
