This beautiful American Applique Quilt was hand stitched in the late 1800s in Pennsylvania in the United States. The American Applique Quilt is in “Floral” pattern with red and pink flowers with green stems and leaves on a white field. The quilt was hand stitched of individual pieces in each frame. It is truly a labor of love and dedication. The hand stitched quilts from the 19th and the early 20th centuries have become extremely collectable. Because it is so delicate and so beautiful, it would be a wonderful piece to use as a wall art tapestry.

The quilt has a very fine hand stitching with primary colors of purple, medium blue, green, and black. The quilt has a brown back and a hanging pocket for display on the wall. The Amish community in Pennsylvania hand craft the quilts for their own use using the material that they had on hand. It is a beautiful example of an upcycling and reuse of material that has utilitarian functions but is also a representation of the art and culture that is woven into it.
