19th Century Napoleonic Prisoner of War Carved 'Spinning Jenny' Automaton.
A rare early 19th Century example of a Napoleonic prisoner of war carved mutton bone 'Spinning Jenny' automaton. The upper platform has a seated female figure wearing a bonnet hat sat at a spinning wheel with thread. Lower platform with hand crank and wheels that activate the figure. Platforms joined by turned columns and are raised on a single turned foot. A real museum piece and collectors’ item, in overall good condition.

Condition Report
The mechanism works but the thread is loose therefore the main wheel won’t turn properly. The thread would been tightening or replacing to make it work properly.
This item is completely solid in structure and form. Obvious age is shown in discolouration, fading of surface in places.
