Tutsi Beaded Prestige Staffs
About the Item
A group of six beaded wood Tutsi and Hutu ceremonial objects, the green striped one second from right is a knife, the others were used as staffs by elite members of the Tutsi and Hutu tribes. All were brought back to Belgium by colonists returning from Rwanda and Burundi around 1960.
