Two Pre Inuit Thule Culture Bone Tool Handles
About the Item
Two carved bone tool Handles from the Pre-Inuit Thule Culture in all original condition. Probable wood working tools, the handles once held Stone or, more rarely, Iron blades. The larger handle with top cut section to receive the wooden handle and the large open end receiving the blade, the smaller handle for more delicate work such as sculpture carving or for utilitarian objects like bowls, spoons, drum frames, etc.
The larger handle measures 4” long by 2.10” deep by 1.25” high (at large opening) and the smaller handle 3” long by 1” deep by 1” high.
Condition: Please see photos. both tools have age-borne wear including stable age splits and general wear with both exhibiting fine age patinas and presenting in an authentic and ancient manner.
