Hans Bergström Five Arm Chandelier in Brass and Elm, Ateljé Lyktan, 1940s
About the Item
This rare five arm chandelier was designed by Hans Bergström and produced by his company Ateljé Lyktan in the late 1940s. This particular model was numbered '10/5'.
The chandelier features five curved brass arms mounted on top of a sculptural wooden center piece. The oval shaped ornament is in solid elm wood and has been decorated with small brass leaves.
The tapered clip-on lamp shades are the original shades and have been made in a pleated, ivory fabric.
This chandelier with its refined details and well chosen materials perfectly represents the work of Hans Bergström.
The lamp is in a good, completely original condition with a natural patina on the brass (can be polished). The original fabric shades with some signs of wear, including a few very small holes. We recommend to replace the shades with new ones and can assist in doing so.
Other iconic Scandinavian modern designers known for their lighting pieces include Paavo Tynell, Josef Frank and Hans Agne Jakobsson.
