About the Item

Unique monumental surfboard flush mount chandelier by Glashütte Limburg, custom made in Germany around 1960s. The base of the surfboard chandelier is made of solid wood, nut wood veneer and black enameled iron holder for ceiling installation. It has 21 chromed brass tube lights for E27 bulbs to illuminate, shown here with very matching silver and gold half mirrored standard screw bulbs which are not included this sale. We recommend LED bulbs which produce no heat and save energy. Wiring is very good so all is fine working and ready to use. This exceptional piece comes from a well-known lawyers representation room from Southern Germany and is a unique statement piece. The amazing heavy and high quality chandelier stays in very good original vintage condition, characteristic and typical minor wear consistent with age and use, the rim of the wood board has minor losses which are only noticeable by a very close inspection. The midcentury modern chandelier is several times signed with Glashütte Limburg company label. The surfboard wood base measures 121 cm / 47.64 inches wide, 51 cm / 20.08 inches deep and 4,5 cm / 1.77 inches tall. The four black enameled iron holder are 5 cm / 1.97 inches tall and have a width of 5 cm / 1.97 inches. The total drop length of the 21 lights varies from 104 cm / 40.95 inches to 75 cm / 29.53 inches which is measured including bulbs.
